I have used Twitter for personal entertainment since 2013 so I was already familiar with it. I love Twitter as it is an easy way to find and connect with people in the same field as you, who go to your school, who share your political opinions, etc. It provides a simple way to communicate and discuss these things through threads and comment threads. It also has plenty of humor and lightheartedness to help distract from the more serious things you might be encountering. I have not run in to any issues yet using Twitter.
I have used Wix probably 4 other times to create websites for other classes, so I was extremely familiar with it already. Creating my website was easy and uncomplicated; the first time I used it a few years ago was another story, though! It definitely takes time and practice to be able to create a website as easily as I can. If I had more time I would've liked to make it more aesthetically pleasing but it has been a busy time in the semester for me so I was more concerned with checking off the list of what had to be done. https://shaehammack.wixsite.com/mshammacksclass
I had never thought about how students with disabilities would struggle to use technology. Assistive and adaptive technologies are a way to combat that and allow these students the same benefits of being a learner in the digital age as students without disabilities. I have never known anyone to use these technologies. I think the challenges of using this technology would be working to give extra time and attention to those students, as that is not always easy with a large, hectic class. I also think that, although it is the law, some schools or school districts would struggle to get funding for these kinds of things, as they can't even do the bare minimum sometimes.
